Getting Started with Bank Connections

After creating your account, here is how to start tracking your finances.


Connection methods

Finthy supports several ways to track your finances:

  • Plaid (US & Canada) - Automatic sync with 12,000+ US banks and major Canadian banks

  • Chrome Extension (Mexico) - Automatic sync with Citibanamex and HSBC Mexico

  • Manual bank connections - Add any bank from USA, Canada, Mexico, Chile, or Brazil

  • Transaction imports - Upload CSV or PDF bank statements


Connecting US banks (Automatic)

  1. Go to Accounts in Finthy

  2. Click Add Account and select Connect Bank

  3. Search for your US bank

  4. Log in securely through Plaid

  5. Select the accounts you want to sync

Your transactions will sync automatically within minutes.


Connecting Canadian banks (Automatic)

  1. Go to Accounts in Finthy

  2. Click Add Account and select Connect Bank

  3. Search for your Canadian bank

  4. Log in securely through Plaid

  5. Select the accounts you want to sync

Your transactions will sync automatically within minutes.


Adding a manual bank account

  1. Go to Accounts in Finthy

  2. Click Add Account

  3. Select your country (USA, Canada, Mexico, Chile, or Brazil)

  4. Choose your bank from the list

  5. Enter your account details


Using the Chrome Extension (Mexico)

For automatic sync with Citibanamex and HSBC Mexico:

  1. Install the Finthy Chrome Extension

  2. Log into your bank online banking

  3. The extension will detect your bank and offer to sync

  4. Authorize and your transactions will be imported


Importing transactions

  1. Download a statement from your bank (CSV or PDF)

  2. Go to Transactions in Finthy

  3. Click Import and upload your file

  4. Our AI will extract and categorize transactions


Available Countries

  • United States - 12,000+ banks with automatic Plaid sync

  • Canada - Major banks with automatic Plaid sync

  • Mexico - 25+ banks, Chrome Extension for Citibanamex and HSBC

  • Chile - 12+ banks with manual connections

  • Brazil - 25+ banks with manual connections

Finthy uses bank-level encryption and never stores your banking credentials. Your data is always secure.
