Connecting with automatic sync

Automatic bank synchronization availability varies by country.


United States (Available)

Full automatic bank synchronization is available through Plaid for:

  • 12,000+ US banks and credit unions

  • Major banks: Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citi, Capital One

  • Digital banks: Ally, Chime, SoFi, Discover

  • Credit unions: Navy Federal, Pentagon Federal, and thousands more


How to connect your US bank

  1. Go to Accounts in Finthy

  2. Click "Add Account" and select "Connect Bank"

  3. Search for your bank and select it

  4. Log in securely through Plaid

  5. Select the accounts you want to sync

Your transactions will sync automatically, typically within minutes.


Canada (Available)

Full automatic bank synchronization is available through Plaid for:

  • Major Canadian banks

  • Big Five: TD Canada Trust, RBC, Scotiabank, BMO, CIBC

  • Other banks: National Bank, Desjardins, HSBC Canada

  • Digital banks: Tangerine, Simplii Financial, EQ Bank


How to connect your Canadian bank

  1. Go to Accounts in Finthy

  2. Click "Add Account" and select "Connect Bank"

  3. Search for your bank and select it

  4. Log in securely through Plaid

  5. Select the accounts you want to sync

Your transactions will sync automatically, typically within minutes.


Mexico (Available)

Automatic sync is available through the Finthy Chrome Extension for:

  • Citibanamex

  • HSBC Mexico

For other Mexican banks (25+ supported), you can use manual transaction entry or import from CSV/PDF.


Chile (Available - Manual)

Chile is available with manual bank connections for 12+ banks. Open Finance automatic sync is coming soon.


Brazil (Available - Manual)

Brazil is available with manual bank connections for 25+ banks. Open Finance automatic sync is coming soon.


How the Chrome Extension works (Mexico)

  1. Install the Finthy Chrome Extension from the Chrome Web Store

  2. Log into your bank online banking website (Citibanamex or HSBC)

  3. The extension will detect supported banks and offer to sync

  4. Authorize the sync and your transactions will be imported


Security

Your data is always secure:

  • US and Canada connections use Plaid's bank-level security

  • Your credentials are encrypted end-to-end

  • Finthy never stores your banking passwords

  • All connections use bank-level security protocols

  • You can disconnect at any time from Settings


Alternative options

If automatic sync is not available for your bank, you can:

  • Add transactions manually

  • Import transactions from CSV or PDF bank statements
