Setting up two-factor authentication (2FA)
Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security to your Finthy account. Even if someone gets your password, they can't access your account without the second factor.
How 2FA works
After entering your password, you'll need to enter a 6-digit code from your authenticator app. This code changes every 30 seconds.
To enable 2FA
Go to Settings from the main menu
Open the Security tab
Find the Two-Factor Authentication section
Click Enable Two-Factor Authentication
Scan the QR code with your authenticator app
Enter the 6-digit code to verify
Save your backup codes in a safe place
Important: Recovery codes are shown only once. Save them somewhere secure, you will need them if you lose access to your authenticator app.

Passkeys: a password-free sign-in option
Passkeys (WebAuthn) are now available in the web app as a stronger, password-free way to sign in. Native-app passkeys are on our roadmap. A passkey uses your device biometrics or a security key, so there is no password to phish or reuse. You can add a passkey in addition to 2FA, or use it instead of a password.
To add a passkey:
Go to Settings from the main menu
Open the Security tab
Find the Passkeys section
Click Add a passkey and follow your device prompts
You can rename or remove a passkey from the same section at any time.
