Calendar and recurring events
The calendar and recurring events are live in the Finthy web app, and they are included free on every plan. The native mobile app, with a mobile calendar, is on our roadmap. Use the calendar to plan upcoming bills, salary, and subscriptions, then match them to the real transactions when they arrive.
What it is
Recurring events are the bills, salaries, subscriptions, and other transactions you expect on a schedule. Finthy tracks each event's upcoming occurrences and helps you match them to the real transactions when they arrive.
Where to find it
Open Calendar from the main navigation. You can switch between four views:
Month, Week, and Day: calendar grids with events on each day.
Agenda: a list grouped by date, great for scanning what is coming.
Creating an event
Open the calendar and click New event.
Enter a title (for example Electricity bill, Salary, Rent).
Pick the date.
Set the amount: none, a fixed amount, or a range (min and max) for events whose value varies, such as utility bills.
Pick a category. The calendar uses the category's color in agenda and day rows.
Choose a recurrence: Does not repeat, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Bimonthly, Quarterly, Semi-annually, Annually, or a Custom rule with your own interval and an optional end date.
Optionally add reminders, then save.
Reminders
Add one or more reminders per event: on the day, 1 day before, 3 days before, 1 week before, or a custom number of days or weeks. Choose how each reminder is delivered: in-app, email, or both.
Tracking a transaction as recurring
From the actions menu on any transaction, choose Track as recurring event. Finthy turns the transaction into a scheduled event, pre-filled from its description, date, amount, currency, and category, and sets the recurrence to monthly by default. Transfers, split items, and duplicates cannot be tracked this way.
Occurrences and matching
Every event generates occurrences, one per scheduled date, each with a status:
Upcoming: not yet matched.
Matched: linked to a real transaction.
Missed: the date passed with no match.
Skipped: you skipped that occurrence.
To match, open an occurrence and choose Match to transaction. Finthy lists transactions within about a week of the occurrence date, and when the event uses an amount range it looks for transactions inside that range. If Finthy has a suggestion, it appears at the top. You confirm the match yourself, so matches are never applied automatically, and you can unlink a match at any time.
Plan availability
Calendar and recurring events are included free on every plan in the web app. The native mobile app is on our roadmap.
